Here we have for sale this stunning custom 1987 Moto Guzzi 850 T5 restomod by Side Rock Cycles!

Having recently owned a Moto Guzzi V85TT adventure bike in the same colour scheme and needing a second bike to exhibit at the 2025 London Bike Shed Show, Side Rock Cycles decided to build this special on-off, mimicking the V85 colour scheme using a Guzzi 850 T5 donor bike. The result was this "V85 T5".

Here are the full build details...

CHASSIS:
- Rear of frame looped to create a higher mounting point and more clearance for the new alloy mudguard.
- Main frame blasted and powder coated in Ferrari Red.
- Lower frame rails and swinging arm blasted and powder coated in satin black.
- New taper roller headstock and swinging arm bearings.
- New shaft support bearing.
- Le Mans tank modified to fit.
- New alloy triangular side panels and brackets fabricated.
- Under seat electronics tray fabricated which houses the Motogadget M Unit and Sasche ignition module.
- New alloy seat base fabricated and finished in black leather (made to be comfortable and be pillion-friendly).
- Top yoke modified to take the new LSL Fat bars.
- New headlamp mounting bracket fabricated.
- New alloy mudguards front and rear.
- Wheels painted black with polished alloy detailing and Tricolor flag.
- New Avon Roadrider tyres.
- New bearings.

SUSPENSION:
- Forks stripped, cleaned, new gaiters, seals, oil and painted black.
- New YSS fully adjustable piggy back rear shocks with springs powder coated Ferrari Red.

BRAKES:
- New EBC stainless floating discs front and rear.
- New EBC pads.
- New black Venhill brake lines with stainless fittings.
- Linked brakes delete.
- New Brembo master cylinders front and rear.

MOTOR:
- Cleaned, stripped and inspected.
- Cylinder heads refreshed with new valves, guides and re cut seats.
- New piston rings.
- New timing chain and tensioner.
- Points and distributer delete.
- RAM single plate clutch with lightened and balanced flywheel, new pushrod.
- Custom alternator cover.
- Braided stainless oil lines.
- Cases finished in satin black, rocker covers in crinkle black.
- Fresh filter and oil.

TRANSMISSION:
- Stripped and inspected.
- New bearings, seals and re-shimmed.
- Finished in satin black.
- Fresh oil.
- Shaft U.J. inspected.
- Support bearing replaced.
- Diff inspected.
- New stainless level/filler bolts.
- Fresh oil.

ELECTRICS:
- New Sachse digital, programmable alternator mounted electronic ignition.
- New Dyna Coils and leads.
- New plugs and plug caps.
- Motogadget M Unit
- Motone push button switches
- LED headlamp
- LED tail light
- Motogadget M Blaze Pin LED indicators
- Ricks Regulator/Rectifier compatible with Lithium Ion batteries.
- New Antigravity Lithium Ion battery.
- New Acewell white faced speedo.

CARBURATION:
- Refreshed Dellorto carbs, re-jetted.
- Airbox deleted.
- New alloy velocity stacks.
- New cables.

EXHAUST:
- Full stainless OS Pipes system (lovely deep note).

PAINTWORK:
- Custom by Wicked Coatings in Poole.

The bike has covered 161 miles since its build (shakedown / test mileage).
The current MOT runs until 18/06/2027.
40 Years old next year so eligible for historic status.

Also included with the bike are its original owner's manual, workshop manual, and some receipts for parts / servicing.
