Fins Motorcycles are pleased to present for sale this Legendary BSA Mk 1 Rocket 3 (A75R) A true survivor, unrestored and in amazing original condition.
Only 7503 miles on the clock.
A True British Superbike Icon. Own a piece of motorcycling history with this magnificent BSA Rocket 3, a machine that defined an era and ignited the superbike revolution. This motorcycle was owned by Earl Bowlby, a BSA works rider and leading AMA Hill climb competitor during the 1970s and '80s. This bike was a showpiece in his BSA dealership for most of its life, hence the low mileage and superb original un restored condition. Earl Bowlby was inducted into the AMA Hall of Fame in 1999.
Key Features:
• Powerful 740cc Triple Engine: At its heart lies the iconic air-cooled, overhead-valve (OHV) inline three-cylinder engine, engineered for a unique blend of smoothness and power. The cylinders are inclined forward by 15 degrees, a distinctive feature that sets it apart from its Triumph sibling and gives it an unmistakable look.
• Commanding Performance: Producing around 60 horsepower, the Rocket 3 delivers an exhilarating ride with a top speed estimated at over 115 mph. Its 120-degree crankshaft ensures a smoother power delivery than the parallel twins of the day.
• Iconic 1970’s Styling by Ogle Design: This model features the highly sought-after original distinctive "ray-gun" silencers, really individual and ground breaking 1970’s Ogle Designed (bread box) tank and robust duplex cradle frame, a design that has become a classic aesthetic statement of the period.
• Collector's Item: With limited production runs, especially for specific model years, the MK 1 Rocket 3 was the first genuine superbike, and is a serious collector's item with proven provenance and appreciating value.
Don't miss the chance to own this piece of history. In superb condition and ready for the road (or a proud display), it's an investment in a legend. We will service and carry out a safety inspection on the bike when it sells. We can arrange nationwide delivery.
Comes with: Owners Handbook, Spare Parts List & Maintenance Notes.
